Well-written with aliens, vampires, witches, werewolves and humans in England. Great imagination that I thought was a YA but found it very entertaining. Interesting concept but really pushing the mystique of vampires just want to have a ruling life. Might read the next one but might not.
I was sceptical, but it was worth the time. I enjoyed the vampire/alien twist at the end. I could see what was needed for earth to win but didn't know if this book would make that connection. Enjoyed the entire book.
I enjoyed this book, mistakes and all. It was different and exciting.
Anything with vampires in the plot automatically catches my attention, so I was more than willing to take a look at Vampires vs. Aliens, but this book lacks polish. I assume this was self-published, and I have no problem with that - some of my favorite authors are self-published - but EVERY self-published author should have a list of beta readers. And use them. A fresh set of eyes is a valuable thing.
V vs. A is full of missing words, misused/missing punctuation, misused verb tenses... it's a long list. Any good editor would have cleaned these things up. I don't mention these things to be hateful, I mention them because I was trying to read the story and constantly backtracking, sometimes two or three times in the same paragraph to figure out what the author was trying to say. It kept interrupting the flow and pulling me out of the story. And so, I finally gave up. Which is a shame, because I think the bones of a pretty good story might be in there.
If none of these things bother you, you may well love this book. Like I said, I couldn't get past all the language errors.
This story was entertaining, and kept my interest. I read it in 1 night. It wasn't to graphic, so I would say that it was good for 13 year old's on up, and they would get a good reading experience. I would also read more from this author.
A very different kind of book! The mix of Vampires and Aliens is a very clever and original story. The characters are certainly believable and interesting. This is a book that's hard to put down. Thanks to the author, I received this book for free for an independent review.
PAR has written a SyFy novel of an alien force that invaded earth and assumes control of the population. There was three things the aliens didn't know about. The Vampires, Werewolves and Humans. S coalition is formed to fight the aliens. It works but the deaths are insurmountable. The top three alien fighters use cunning and military tactics. This is an excellent read for the genre..... ER
